Our multi-age Preschool program cultivates independence and collaboration, allowing children to build cognitive, social, and language skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Designed for ages 3–5 years, this program welcomes children who are developmentally ready for larger group settings and are potty trained. Our multi-age group placement considers a child’s age, Spanish language background, and developmental readiness.

Rooted in Reggio Emilia and Waldorf philosophies and aligned with Creative Curriculum Cloud learning objectives, our approach emphasizes play, nature, and project-based learning. Seasonal, nature-based materials reinforce math, literacy, and language skills, while cognitive growth is encouraged through higher-order questioning, observation, and open-ended building activities. Themes are explored in depth, with a focus on vocabulary expansion and rich discussions.

Throughout the year, students engage in project-based learning, culminating in presentations that showcase their growth. They maintain portfolios of artwork, observations, and theme-based activities, strengthening cognitive and social-emotional skills. Problem-solving and social development are woven into daily experiences, helping children learn how to be kind, respectful, and engaged members of their classroom and school community.

Each day includes circle time and activity choices in both indoor and outdoor classrooms. Teachers incorporate resources from our nature-based curriculum library and anti-bias books focused on kindness, inclusion, and empathy. Morning activities promote pre-writing, reading, fine motor skills, and early math concepts as children begin to associate letters with sounds, to count, and to collect data.

Preschoolers also enjoy hands-on experiences like tending their class garden bed, participating in monthly cultural cooking classes led by our school chef, and engaging in yoga, dance, and music classes—all enriching their learning through movement, creativity, and cultural exploration.
